With over 215 feet of frontage and an abundance of privacy, Jer Bear's Hideaway is the perfect destination to relax and unwind. Just short drives from St. Germain, Eagle River, and Minocqua, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath vacation home is a delightful Northwoods retreat with all the necessities of home.
Enjoy cooking your meals with a fully equipped, newly updated kitchen that provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a view with the indoor dining table, or step into the screened-in three-season room and take in the outdoors while enjoying your meal. The main level also boasts a spacious living room with a wood-burning fireplace and a large TV, perfect for cozying up for a family movie night. The primary bedroom is just down the hallway and accommodates a King-size bed, along with a Full-size sleeper sofa.
The lower level of the home has the perfect rec room, great for keeping entertained on those unexpected rainy days, equipped with a huge tv, pool table, wood-burning stove, and bar-height table that's great for board games or cards. There is a full bathroom on the lower level, as well as two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a Queen-size bed, while the second bedroom offers a bunk bed (both Twin-size beds) and a solo Twin-size bed.
Step outside and get some fresh air. Relax on the large wrap-around deck or enjoy s'mores and stories around the firepit. There's plenty to do outside at Jer Bear's Hideaway, including gradual, level frontage- perfect for swimming.
Pickerel Lake offers excellent fishing, swimming, and boating. Bass, Musky, Northern, Walleye, and an abundance of panfish are well stocked in Pickerel Lake.

Great Place

Property was perfect for our guys fishing weekend. Extremely clean, well equipped and spacious. The two docks in the lake were perfect for our boats. The fire pit and yard are in Preston’s condition with some recently finished landscaping. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone. Very prompt and friendly responses from owner.

Fantastic location and great house! It was clean and had tons of amenities. There are tons of wildlife in the area and great fishing. The game room was a nice bonus and kept us entertained on the rainy days. It was a great getaway that we would highly recommend.

We have an excellent time during our stay. We had a couple of issues with the house. The heat in the family room of the lower level was not working when we arrived and the garbage disposal quit working. We called immediately and the staff was there quickly to take care of the situation. The house was perfect for our family. We loved the view of the lake.

All was good. The Rental Company was Very flexible the house was accommodating for our group. Only problem was the temperature in the guest room downstairs. Each night it dropped to 55 degrees.

This is our 2nd time staying at this location. The location is very private and beautiful. Our kids love swimming by the dock and fishing, and it's great that the boat landing is so close by. The only downfall to the place is there is only a window a/c, so for the really hot days, the house gets pretty hot. It would also be nice if the owners could get some new pots and pans. We cooked all of our meals here for the week, and the pots and pans are in tough condition. Overall, this place is great!

We had a great stay in October 2019 for a fishing trip weekend. The house was accommodating to our party size and we were pleased with the location on the lake and to nearby St. Germain. We utilized the grill and pool table. We did notice that many of the pool cue tips were missing, so we went to WalMart and purchased a repair kit and replaced many of the cue tips that we could. If you're bringing a boat, you will need a good 200 feet of extension cord to be able to plug in your boat. The seating area is comfortable and the fireplaces, both upstairs and downstairs were handy in helping us dry off from a wet weekend. I highly recommend staying here!

The smell in the house is a little musty. Some of the carpets are not cleaned very well from previous pet incidents. The mattresses are very worn down and you can feel the springs as you lay down. However the view is beautiful from the balcony and the location of the house is very private. Very large lot.. great for kids and dogs.

This was a great place for our family. The house is great and location is perfect. It is a private and beautifully wooded lot. I would recommend investing in new mattresses for a few of the beds. Not good. The house is great for kids as well as adults. We enjoyed the fire pit being far enough away from the house so no smoke came through the windows/doors. The added dock was also fun for fishing without trips to the ER for hook removal! I would rent again. Hiller made the process very easy.

The cabin's setting is great it really feels like you have your own park to play in. The location is awesome just 5 minutes from St. Germain and very quiet. Couldn't have been any happier with the staff and the stay!!

Pinewood, Pickerel Lake - Won't Be Back

We stayed at Pinewood on Pickerel Lake for a week. The wooded setting is very nice, private and the view of the lake is beautiful. However, we would not rent this house again. Our biggest issues were the lack of adequate indoor lighting and the poor water quality of Pickerel Lake which prevented us from swimming. The house furnishings and kitchen supplies are basic and worn. The lake was ok for kayaking and fishing. It’s very shallow and the water was murky even at shallow depths. The lake surface was covered in algae (pond scum). In the future, I would check the Wisconsin DNR website for lake quality info before renting in this area. There are no overhead lights in the living areas and the small lamps in the main living area are too dim for reading. Lighting in both baths is dim. The large upstairs bedroom faces the driveway & house entry path and has no privacy shades or drapes. The rugs, bedspreads and other areas needed a good cleaning. The basement level smelled damp even with a constantly running dehumidifier (which filled up twice a day.) There were numerous small maintenance issues. The house had a window a/c unit in the living room which we didn’t use. There was unsecured wifi but it didn’t work very well so don’t count on it. Cell phone service was fine. Hiller’s (the rental management company) provided us with pontoon boat and kayak rentals both of which were handled very professionally and were at the dock when we arrived. The pontoon boat was brand new.
